Figure 2 seems incorrect – it does not show winter heating – or the label is superflous.
An interesting paper – though I have not read it in great detail.

It is actually there – a narrow purple band between the red and the blue – but I had to zoom the PDF to 1200% to see it. The perils of using Excel to generate charts.
